IF YOU WERE A PARENT< WOULD YOU BUY A DOLL THAT MISREPRESENTED YOUR VALUES?
I never thought of Barbies being dangerous for little girls. I am against giving my little girl an object that misrepresented my values; but in this case I don't think that Barbies would mispresent them. Therefore, I would but Barbies for my little girl, because Barbies are what girls like to play the most with. Also, because I think that if you give a good education and teach well enough your girl, she won't think bad things, or in bad ideas like imitating something that she sees. Girls need to play with something/ toys that they feel happy with, and that are good for them. i don't find Barbies dangerous. I agree that only one girl out of many do what Cindy Jackson did.
SHOULD SCHOOLS HAVE A VOCATIONAL TRACK?
I do agrre with the fact that schools should have a vocational track. This is because I think that by having vocational track, students would get more motivated to attend school. They would be spending their time and best effort to be in school for something that they really want. Not everybody wants to attend college after after high school, because of lack of money and opportunity/requirements. Therefore, by having a vocational track, students will be well prepared for the future. At least for a descent job skill that would keep them away from commiting crimes and spending time on/ with bad influences. A vocational track would/ will give students the opportunity to experience and know what they really want. Also, to have a better prepared for the future.
CRUDE REALITY PICTURE ESSAY
This picture is giving a strong message to many people. It's a picture that says more than a thousand words. It has a lot of symbolism that makes us understand what it is about. In this picture, we can see the the so called " crude reality" of the fight for money. The war between the United States and England, both fighting for oil; when innocent brave soldiers pay the consequences. Soldiers die and/or end up with prosthetics. They are also tortured many times and treated with the hardest pain ever. Innocent blood is spread because of two government nations wanting to fight for oil/money and/or power. The governments of these nations are most likely to agree with this, they don't care as long as they are safe and have what they want, because they need soldiers to fight for their country. In contrast, in this picture we can see that the artist, or person that made this picture doesn't agree with having wars and not caring for the soldiers/people. This picture is very persuasive in all ways. I think this because it made me think/imagine about the soldiers that have to fight for the country, and about how much they have to suffer and/or pass through. They even die and/or lose an arm, leg, and/or both, and noboby really cares and/or appreciates their hard work. I think that soldiers should be the ones that get paid the most. Even more than Doctors, because they deserve it. They risk and/or lose their lives for protecting the country's interests.
